Building on our values of passion, integrity, and teamwork. JBS promotes a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) throughout the organization.
Our DEI Advisory Council works in partnership with leadership to hold all of us at JBS accountable to these objectives:
- Our recruitment and hiring processes encourage people of diverse backgrounds to join our organization.
- Our employee development policies give everyone an equal opportunity to grow and thrive.
- Our workplace culture creates a welcoming and nurturing environment where everyone feels supported to do their best.
The DEI Advisory Council also lends its expertise to numerous projects across the company.
Our View
- Diversity is the practice of including people, including persons in underserved communities, with multiple backgrounds—expressed through many forms including race and ethnicity, gender and gender identify, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, language, culture, religious commitments, age, (dis)ability status, political perspective—across all levels of our organization.
- Equity is the process of acknowledging and addressing systemic imbalances to ensure just treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement of all people by eliminating barriers that have prevented the full participation of some groups.
- Inclusion is the deliberate effort to ensure all backgrounds and experiences are welcomed, respected, recognized, and appreciated to create a sense of belonging for every employee.
“We’re proud of JBS as a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization, but we acknowledge that there’s more we need to do. We are leaning into being uncomfortable as we work together to identify and change assumptions and practices, rooted in implicit biases, which hold us back from achieving our vision of a fully equitable organization. To accomplish this vision, JBS has developed and is implementing a DE&I Roadmap focused on four priorities: leadership, culture, talent, and marketplace.”
