Dr. Williams has more than 20 years of experience working with culturally diverse, marginalized, and underserved populations in public health, chronic disease management, and wellness. Dr. Williams is currently the technical expert lead of the Criminal Justice (CJ) programs for the SAMHSAâ€™s Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) Division of Services Improvement (DSI) CJ Clinical Technical Assistance (TA) project. Dr. Williams plans, manages, and monitors the provision of comprehensive clinical TA services in support of over 200 treatment drug courts, tribal healing to wellness courts, offender reentry programs, and joint-initiative federally funded grantees who are addressing key areas associated with substance abuse treatment, recovery, and reentry. The program areas she supports include project implementation, opioid overdose prevention, implementing medication-assisted treatment (MAT), relapse and recidivism, and addressing public health and criminal justice systems challenges at the local, state, and federal levels. She also manages special projects for the SAMHSA CSAT CJ team lead and government project officers.
