Jennifer Kasten, Ph.D. is Named President of JBS International

April 10, 2019

Jennifer Kasten, Ph.D., who has served as Chief Strategy Officer, Vice President, and Senior Researcher during her 10-year tenure at JBS International, has been selected as its President.

JBS’s founders, Gail Bassin and Jerri Shaw, are transitioning from their co-CEO roles into the new roles of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer, respectively.

“From the very beginning of Jennifer’s JBS tenure through her recent work in strategizing and implementing new business in key focus areas, there has been one constant in her leadership,” Shaw said. “She is focused on the human element — on the people who are most in need of the teamwork and guidance we provide across all of our services and contracts.”

Dr. Kasten has more than two decades of experience in public policy, program evaluation, change analyses, and performance measurement. For eight years, she directed JBS’s Clinical Technical Assistance contract with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

“Jennifer’s unwavering ability to provide innovative solutions to our firm and sharp, strategic counsel to our national, state, and local clients make her the perfect choice to lead JBS into the future,” said Bassin.

Kasten received her Ph.D. in Public Administration from North Carolina State University and an MSW in Social Work from the University of South Carolina.
