Workforce Development
Expertise
JBS’s Workforce Development Group couples rigorous analyses of industries and the skills they require with education, training, and career-building opportunities for people who need them.
We provide research, technical assistance, communications, and program support to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Industry Competency Model Initiative, a repository of validated competency requirements as defined and updated by industry experts. Growth industries profiled range from renewable energy to cybersecurity to allied health professions. Each competency model has industry champions who keep abreast of the changes in vital sectors of our economy.
We work with educators, business and industry leaders, human resource professionals, programs serving the unemployed, and government leaders who use the competency models to design curricula, guide students in career exploration, develop human resource strategies, and create credentialing systems.
JBS aligns industry needs with employee and job-seeker skills to help businesses and employees seize new opportunities in today’s demanding and hard-edged economy.
