JBS International, a leading government contractor and social services consulting firm in North Bethesda, MD, seeks a Technical Assistance Manager (TAM) who is concerned with the health and well-being of people at risk for or affected by substance abuse. The Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) Rural Communities Opioid Response Program-Technical Assistance (TA) contract at JBS uses innovative, creative information dissemination and policy and planning strategies to improve the prevention, treatment, and recovery services and systems for persons with opioid use and substance use disorders in rural communities.
The TAM plays a central role in the planning and delivery of site visits, targeted technical assistance (TA), and offsite TA for individual grantees. The TAM will help to identify issues that impact multiple grantees and to design long-term, overall TA strategies for HRSA grantees. The TAM will participate in site visits conducted and may lead site visits. The TAM will work with grantee staff to establish and maintain productive working relationships. The TAM will also assist in developing content expertise and project management experience related to planning and monitoring multiple concurrent TA events, budgeting and budget management, ensuring and maintaining good client relationships, and tracking/documenting TA activities. Extensive travel may be required.Â Â
Minimum Experience/ Education Requirements:Â
Bachelorâ€™s degree in a social services or public health-related field required; Masterâ€™s degree preferred. Ideal applicants should have at least 5 years of experience working in a human services or public health related field and a willingness to learn. Experience working with individuals with opioid use disorders, especially in rural communities, is preferred. Knowledge in the areas of government contracting, grants management, office administration, and substance abuse is strongly desired. Specific skills including strong written and oral communications, relationship building, computer/technology savvy, agenda development, internet research, and organization are a plus. The ability to synthesize information quickly, prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and manage deadlines is essential.Â Â Â Â
