JBS Internationalâ€™s California office has full time positions available for bilingual Research Assistants on our long running project, the National Agricultural Workers Survey (NAWS). The main focus of this position is data entry and support of field and data collection activities for the National Agricultural Workers Survey. The Research Assistant I performs data entry and assists with other tasks assigned by the project. The Research Assistant I must be able to work with teams successfully and is important to the project, ensuring that the data we produce is of the highest quality by reviewing questionnaires and catching interviewer mistakes and by entering the data accurately and verifying that it is as clean as possible.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Code data from data collection instruments into MS Access
- Review completed questionnaires for completeness and quality
- Call NAWS interviewers/interviewees to verify and correct data on data collection instrument
- Receive Grower calls made to the toll free line and forward to NAWS staff
- Respond to requests of field staff as directed
- Prepare field staff assignments and requests
- Review and give feedback on survey material and data entry system
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Language:Â Spanish/English fluency (spoken and read) required.
Education:Â HS diploma required.
Experience:Â One year experience required.Â
Software Proficiency:Â Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).Â
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:Â Previous experience in data collection and data processing preferred. Experience working in/with minority or hard to reach communities or evaluation/research fields a plus.
