Full Stack Developer (Junior Mid-Level)

The Full Stack Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing and unit testing software artifacts to fulfill the requirements of JBS’s Government, Nonprofit and commercial clients. Qualified candidates will demonstrate immediately applicable technical aptitude as well as a propensity for learning new tools and techniques quickly in a fast-paced environment. Excellent candidates will share the desire to lead the industry by applying innovative, cutting-edge technology to solve complex problems with a technology agnostic posture. They should be at ease working in an agile environment with high collaboration and low direct supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Creates clean, efficient code with minimal defects to meets customer requirements
  • Participates in design discussions with the software architect and the team to produce comprehensible design documents
  • Reviews and refactors existing code to maximize efficiency, performance, modularity and reusability
  • Performs unit testing on new artifacts and assists with regression testing and test automation to maintain quality software artifacts
  • Participates in the full software development lifecycle and adheres to software development practices set by the company and the project

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline

Language: English Fluency (oral and written)

Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience using at least one of the following languages – Java, C#, C++ or Python, to produce nontrivial software artifacts using OOP. Experience with client-server solutions such as web applications, including the implementation of front-end interfaces using HTML and JavaScript. Experience using version control software such as TFS and Git, and issue management tools such as Jira or Bugzilla. Experience using IDEs such as IntelliJ IDEA, Visual Studio, PHPStorm and WebStorm.

Skill: Able to utilize server-side frameworks such as ASP.Net, J2EE, Spring, Node.js and Django. Able to review design and code artifacts for organization, modularity, and sound practices. Able to communicate technical details effectively. Willingness to learn and apply whatever technology is necessary to fulfill the requirements of JBS and our customers 

Location: North Bethesda, MD

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

Experience: Experience deploying and/or consuming APIs and services technologies such as REST, SOAP. Experience using data access objects or ORM frameworks to communicate with databases like MSSQL, MySQL. Multi-Stack experience using two or more of the above programming languages, especially Java and C#. Experience with test automation and TDD frameworks. Experience creating full-stack implementations including database queries, controller and business logic, and HTML/JavaScript implementations. Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Document database, key-value stores and graph databases. Experience with client-side frameworks and technologies such as React, Angular and Bootstrap. 

Skill: Ability to understand and apply design patterns such as Singleton, Memento, and Dependency Injection
