Digital Communications and Marketing Strategist

North Bethesda health and human services consulting firm seeks a full-time Digital Communications and Marketing Strategist for leading edge communication initiatives to meet health challenges.  Assist federal government client break new ground in outreach and behavior change with various audiences—through new technologies and best practices.  Digital media channel management activities include: social media and email strategy, targeted message development, implementation, and evaluation as well as monitoring and continually refining strategies for outreach to health professionals, researchers, and healthcare organizations, research institutions, universities, as well as consumers. Also includes planning an editorial calendar and working with the web and design teams to create graphics to support the social media campaigns and projects, providing web support using basic HTML, and creating 508 compliant documents. Experience should include targeting multiple audiences such as consumers (including hard-to-reach segments), health professionals, and healthcare organizations; and deploying a diverse array of social media platforms (including mobile marketing with SMS) and tracking emergence of new technologies.


Minimum Experience/ Education Requirements:

Position requires proficiency with social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and ideally, the platforms to manage them such as Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, and Facebook applications; basic knowledge of HTML and 508 compliance, knowledge of social marketing and behavior change principles, particularly when social media is part of a larger strategy for reaching hard-to-reach and varied audiences; experience with developing targeted marketing strategies and campaigns; ability to write clear and concise copy with attention to detail and target audience focus.  5+ years of experience required, including Federal health campaigns plus at least 3 years of experience developing social media content for consumers and/or health professionals. Experience in addressing healthy aging, older adults, caregiving, physical activity and older adults, clinical trials recruitment efforts, a plus. BA degree required and master’s preferred preferably in public health, communications, or marketing.
